World Refugee Day
World Refugee Day Celebration 2010 was a huge success! Now help make our 2011 celebration even better! World Refugee Day Celebration 2011 will be held on Saturday, June 18th.
We invite you to join us for our annual World Refugee Day festivities on June 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in downtown South Bend. Downtown South Bend (DTSB) and Notre Dame Downtown will host the event at 217 S. Michigan St (between Wayne and Jefferson St). Additional activities will also take place in the Wells Fargo Bank courtyard located on the corner of Michigan and Jefferson.
World Refugee Day is dedicated to raising awareness of refugee situations throughout the world. Locally, we will be recognizing and celebrating our refugee program with a variety of live entertainment performances, local vendors, and food sampling from local restaurants, volunteers and refugee families. The event is free and open to the public.
In addition to attending the event, we invite you to participate in the food sampling by creating your favorite ethnic dish to share with attendees. If you would like to participate, please contact Allison Hoke at hoke@stjoe-redcross.org or 574-234-0191 x28.
