Volunteer Orientation
After we get connected by phone or e-mail, you will probably be directed to attend a Volunteer Orientation. Here you'll learn about the history of the Red Cross, our mission, what we do and how you can get involved. You will also be given a volunteer application to complete and have the opportunity to complete your background check (required of all volunteers over the age of 18).

Background Check
For the safety of our clients, volunteers, and staff, the American Red Cross has mandated that all potential Red Cross employees and volunteers complete a background check (at no charge to them) whether they are new to the organization or have been associated with the Red Cross in the past. Upon completing a volunteer application, the staff of the Red Cross will help you complete a background check inquiry prior to your start as a volunteer.
