According to the US Department of Labor:

As many as 2 of every 5 small businesses (40%)
never reopen
after facing a major disaster/emergency.

Of the businesses that reopen,
25% close within two years.

BEPA Overview:
The American Red Cross, St Joseph County Chapter has established the Business Emergency Planning Association (BEPA) to promote and support emergency preparedness and business contingency/continuity planning within Business/Industry.

The Association meets bi-monthly with speakers providing presentations on a variety of continuity planning issues. Members also have the opportunity to interact and network with business contingency/continuity planning professionals and vendors promoting their services.
